So not only have they used Pinterest strategically – developing boards that showcase the cars and their features, but they’ve also done a bespoke competition that asks users to contribute to the boards and complete the jigsaw with images that can only be found on the main Peugeot site. Everything was connected to the Pinterest page from twitter, facebook, foursquare and .com – a truly outstanding example.

The campaign generated tonnes of media from blog posts, twitter chats, mainstream coverage etc. They generated over 50,000 interactions on Pinterest within a month! You can’t argue with results like that – especially not when creating global awareness from a tiny market – Panama!

When it comes to making social an integral part of any activation campaign, I think we can safely say we’re not in Kansas anymore, Toto. And we’re going to need a bigger boat.
